Shri Gajanan Seva is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the Bay Area, California. Inspired by the teachings of Shri Gajanan Maharaj, our mission is to foster a community rooted in Seva (selfless service) and spiritual connection.
We translate our Guru’s timeless principles into modern community action—focusing on simple yet impactful values like mindfulness and the preservation of resources (e.g., “Do not waste food”). Throughout the year, our dedicated volunteers engage in diverse humanitarian efforts, including:
- Food Drives: Partnering with local Bay Area Food Banks to combat hunger.
- Toy Drives: Distributing toys to children in need within our local community.
- Annual Pragat Din Utsav: Our flagship event that brings the community together to celebrate the appearance day of Shri Gajanan Maharaj and strengthen our bond of service.

We aim to connect volunteers through practical humanitarian actions that strengthen our local community, such as our commitment to zero food waste and resource sharing.
High School Volunteer Program & Service Credits:
We take pride in mentoring the next generation. Shri Gajanan Seva provides a structured environment for high school students to earn certified volunteer service hours required for graduation and college applications. Our youth volunteers gain hands-on experience in:
- Event Logistics & Operations: Assisting with the physical setup, including table arrangements, signage, and venue preparation.
- Crowd & Line Management: Developing leadership and communication skills by guiding devotees and managing flow during large-scale events.
- Food Service Coordination: Executing organized food distribution and serving protocols, emphasizing hygiene and efficiency.
- Supply Chain & Distribution: Supporting our seasonal Food and Toy Drives by sorting, inventorying, and preparing donations for local Bay Area charities.
- Administrative Support: Assisting with registration, check-ins, and digital coordination for our flagship Annual Pragat Din Utsav.
We provide formal verification letters and sign-offs for all hours served, helping students build a strong portfolio of community engagement and civic responsibility.
